I’ve created all of the products in my site, but now I’d like to create some pages that just have content for search engines. How do I create an informational page?

Posted by Kim Good on Dec 30, 2008

Informational pages are created by using the contents button in the tool bar; then clicking new. Just like you would if you were creating one of your item pages. Just like an item page, you can have the id be anything you like.
I suppose the hardest part of creating an informational page is deciding if [...]

Can I offer free shipping over $100?

Posted by Kim Good on Dec 22, 2008

Yes, you can offer free shipping over any dollar amount you want with just the basic Yahoo Shipping Manager.
First, you want to create the normal rule for below $X.xx. So this can be done by UPS online tools, or a flat or table rate.
If you’re using a table based on amount, then you just need [...]

How can I help my international customers place an order, with out a zip code?

Posted by Kim Good on Dec 16, 2008

It’s true that some countries don’t have postal or zip codes. For those customers, they need to put NA in the zip code box. Simple enough, but the task is telling your customers that.
You want to tell them in the checkout itself. Putting in your shipping policy on your store isn’t going to help. Your [...]

I’ve seen other Yahoo Stores have an “Email me a copy of my order” option in the checkout. How can I turn that on?

Posted by Kim Good on Dec 12, 2008

The copy of the order, also known as the order confirmation, will not send out unless you have a valid email entered in the system.
Where do you enter this you may ask? On your store manager or store control panel, you see an “Order Confirmation and Status Update” link. You follow that link and fill [...]

I’ve created my items already, now I’d like to change my ids. How do I accomplish this?

Posted by Kim Good on Dec 3, 2008

Ids unfortunately cannot be changed. So if you’ve created a page with the wrong id, the only thing you can do is delete the original page, and create another with the correct information.
When doing this manually its better to create the new page first with the correct information, then delete the old one. This way [...]

item-height, item-width will change the size of pictures uploaded to the image property and seen as the main image on the page.
inset-height, inset-width will change the size of pictures uploaded [...]

How do I add info pages to my navigation?

Posted by Kim Good on Nov 18, 2008

There is actually two ways to answer this question. The first would be to use a regular item type page only filling in the name, image (if necessary), and caption. This will show the informational page similar to your section pages. This leave yourself open to the possibility to linking to pages by using the [...]

A special guest appearance in Tech Support

Solid Cactus’ Kevin Lynn would be the first to tell you he’s had the opportunity to interview a wide variety of characters in his day. So, do you think he would let the chance to interview Batman and Joker together go to waste? We didn’t either. Mr Lynn took the time out of his “busy” [...]
